Popping out of reverse...
Hey guys, Dont really post in this section much but could use some assistance on this one... Ok, I broke my 5.0 out last week cause there was a kid who was talking all kinds of smack about older mustangs and wouldnt run my 06. So I was pulling it out of the garage ( where its been hanging out for the last 3 months ) and the damn thing now pops out of reverse every ten feet or so. If I give it a little gas and push the clutch in its fine, it just when its in gear. I have a world class t5 with a pro 5.0 shifter. You think its the shifter? Anyone have any similar issues? Thanks

Its not your shifter.
I have the same problem with my T45 and so do alot of other ppl. This seems to be a characteristic of the T5 and T45. Thats not to say that its normal. I tried changing shifters on mine and it made no differance at all. |

Sounds like a bent shift fork i had one but was in forward gears i would check for the stops on most of the aftermarket shifters out there

Thanks for the assistance fellows. Looks like I will be taking her apart this weekend then. Of coarse the only gear that I dont beat the hell out of is the only one I have issues with... Not to mention is was slightly embarrassing as this kids face dropped when I fired it and it started rumbling and shaking as it does at idle, then had it jerk and pop trying to get it out of the garage as it popped out of gear.
BTW- I used to live in Indy for about 8 years, now Im in Evansville ( been here for 2 years, but grew up here as well ) cause of a job offer.. |
