Replacing An Oil Pump Without Pulling The Motor
Is it possible? Anyone ever attempted it?

If you have a noise in your engine I would pull the engine anyway. It doesn't take much time or effort and you should be looking at the main and rod bearings for possible damage, especially if you suspect the pump is bad.
