Cheap twin turbo stock 5.0

I recently bought a stock or what i think is stock 5.0. Its the old speed density bull crap and i was planning on changing to MAF. Then someone put the idea in my head to put a twin turbo on it, dont ask me how. But now im seriously thinking about it. Ive already found a kit off ebay for a 5.0 and i was figuring all i needed, to have everything is MAF, injectors, a9l computer, bigger fule pump, and oil feed/return lines. My question is, is this a smart way to go i figured the price up at like 1400 or 1500. What lbs of boost i should start out with and also what size MAF and injectors should i use. Someone told me 30 lb/hr but i want to get some more feedback from people who know a little something, not just someone trying to sell me something. Any and all responses are appreciated. Thanks

What kit are you looking at? Does it come with an intercooler? Which turbos does it come with? What about the style of clamps, and exhaust manifolds?

A 255lph fuel pump, AFPR and 36lb/hr injectors will be plenty for 450hp (if thats anywhere near your expectations). Realistically, your better off with a single turbo system, especially if your power goals are under 500hp.

dont cheap out on a turbo kit man. you will spend more fixing the problems than the 200-400 you saved buying it.

if you want a good quality turbo system, i suggest you talk to Bernard at quicktime turbo systems. they will hook you up for a complete kit than can do 480hp easy for just 2900. or you can run low boost. the kit is very reliable for a good price.

eBay Motors: Twin Turbo TT FORD MUSTANG 260 289 302 351 5.0L Kit (item 350016929091 end time Jan-26-08 19:34:28 PST)

Heres the link to the turbo im planning on buying. The reason im going for the inexspensive one is because im on a budget and this is pretty much all i can afford.

its gonna cost you one way or another.. turbos are touchy man.. u cant just slap a turbo on and drive the hell out of it.. there is alot of tuning that goes into a turbo set up. you should think about getting an h/c/i kit.

HEADS CAM INTAKE the trickflow kit is around 2200 it wont give u as much as a turbo kit but it will be more reliable and u will get better gas mileage and alot easier to install.. trust me u will be happy with the power jump.. you could be in the 12's with a good tune/driver

oh i already bought some gt-40 heads that have been proffesionally ported and polished i was going to put the turbos on top of that i just really like going fast and i love the sound of that blowoff of a turbo. I dunno what im going to do. I know the gt-40's are goin on it and some dumb a** put has 2.73's in it and thats getting changed to 3.73's. Nitrous is an easy way to go but always been on the skidish side of that even though ive installed many kits for friends. And no matter what im putting the MAF conversion to it cause its idling funny as hell as it is.

there are people putting those turbos (theyre made in china) on. I dont know how much exact hp it makes but there IS some fabrication involved. I didnt read the link but i believe they are advertised as bolt on. they are not exact fit, but will work. they are supposed to be pretty good turbos too surprisingly. I heard Precision was sent many of these to inspect them and surprisingly theyre made well. i say do it, but know someone who is good with fabrication to help you install the kit.

Here's the deal. That kit has no exhaust side (i.e down pipes). THe headers are not direct fit, the driver's side header puts the turbo exit pointed directly at the brake master cylinder. The only way around that is to put manual brakes on the car. The turbos are OK, but they have been known to grenade and spray metal parts into your motor...

So you still think you are saving money on this kit?

I'm sure you could somehow convert a S/C bypass into a blow off if you just want the sound

You mean like a vortech mini race bypass? Any bypass that vents to the atmosphere will sound the same.
