Built
What kinda power could you expect out of a built 5.0? I'm more into the modulars put i like the 5.0 sn95's alot and was thinking about maybe getting one in the future. Anyone got any idea on what kinda n/a power i could build to and how much it would run me? Haha know this is kinda vague but i'm just trying to get an idea

Ok well if anybody has any advice, I'm not real familiar with the 302's but any ideas are welcome you can post or PM me. Once again sorry it's so vague just looking at what kinda numbers i may could expect at the best cost.

Could do 400 n/a rwhp with a nice stroker, not exactly sure of the price but chp has a bunch of short block kits or dss

300rwhp can be done with just bolt ons, and a stock shortblock.

Really? I'm not real familiar with the 302's thats why i have an obvious lack of knowledge. If i decided to do this and wanted to rebuild with bigger cams what would be the best setup i mean should i go with higher compression pistons and port and polish the heads or what?

302s only have one cam. An H/C/I swap, leaving the stock shortlblock (with its pistons), bigger fuel pump, injectors, adjustable fuel pressure reg, MAF, throttle body, a good set of long tube headers and free flowing exhaust, all with a good tune... 300rwhp would come easy. Other simple stuff like UD pulleys, or A/C delete, smog delete... PS delete.. Every little bit will help. 300rwhp has been done by so many people with just bolt ons.

And since I'd be looking at all the motor work anyway would there be a real advantage in looking at a 94-95 cobra over the gt?

$3500-4000 i would say is a reasonable budget for 300rwhp. All the bolt-ons you would need for that performance could be performed in your driveway, including the cam swap. The 94-95 Cobra has a better intake, cam and heads from the factory.. but because you'd be swapping to a better intake, cam and heads anyways, buying a GT is probably better money spent in the end.. simply because GTs are cheaper than cobras.

$2500 he can get trickflow's set-up and make about 350hp to the crank..but i've seen more around 325hp...swap out that cam and rocker arms with custom cam and crane or harland sharp roller rockers and your more likely to make 350hp+
