Performance Alignment

OK, time for the first alignment since I have put this monster together.

I have heard that there is something called a performance alignment. I saw someplace where you do not use the factory specifications, but you use negative .5 to negative .2 degrees for the camber, and 1/16th toe in.

Has anyone done this?

If so are these the correct numbers?

Does this make your tires wear faster?

The last thing I want to do is buy tires sooner than normal.

I have asked a few shops, and they basically tell me they will not be responsible for pulling or tire wear if I do anything other than the factory specifications, which I understand.

Thanks,

Robert

I would sugguest the following:

1979-93
Toe In: 1/16"
Camber: 1° negative
Caster: 2° positive

1994-2004
Toe In: 1/16"
Camber: 1° negative
Caster: 2.5-3° positive

you will be fine on tire wear as long as you rotate like needed, but ofcourse harder cornering will wear the outside of the tires faster. some places don't know how to handle adjusting aftermarket c/c plates so follow the attached illustration
