Block Identification
I have two 302 blocks at my dads but they both have different markings in the lifter valley. The one I was told was out of an early 90's crown vic actually says 5.0L in the lifter valley but the actual part number on the block isn't where the starter would be. Its on the driver side of the block. The other one is out of a 87 bronco and it seems to have some random numbers in the lifter valley as well as 2 sets of 3 x's where the heads bolt up. Is there really any difference in these blocks? Is one stronger than the other?
