Let me guess, an autometer guage running off the stock O2 sensors?

white plugs are fine for an EFI car, it might be running 15:1-16:1 at idle, that is normal for an EFI car. The autometer guages don't really help much unless it is running off a quality wide band O2 sensor. When in doubt, take it to a dyno facility and have them check the A/F ratio.
