94 Cobras aren't a big hit nowadays.. how much power were they producing, 230 hp I think, compared to 215 hp for the SN95 HO motor?

tuners tend to like their J4J1 EEC-IV's.. I heard they're much more flexible to tune than T4M0 for the same year 5.0

You can buy a cheap 5.0 HO and do some good mods at low cost.. a complete pair of GT40P heads ($560), Explorer GT40 intakes ($130) with MAC headers ($140) and some porting job, fair compression ratio, underdrive pulleys, good tires.. and you can smoke a stock 94 Cobra no sweat

but 2003 Cobra's.. whoa.. those are Vette C05 killers!

yea well most things can smoke a CO5 lol. nah but yea im defantly lookin at the GT. i assume everything you were naming was for the GT. i dont know much about parts so. you shold probably clarify for me what most of those parts are... meaning like.. the GT40 or something like that.

thanks

Oh yeah.. Corvette C5.. the C5 refers to the body style prior to the present one which is C6.. and Z06 is powered by the mighty LS6 motor with 500 hp, compared to the other stock LS1 with 400 hp.. these are beasts, man.. not to mention the infamous Lingenfelter street Vettes with engine powers all above 800 hp!!

Anyway, Corvettes are SPORT cars with aerodynamic carbon-fiber lightweight bodies.. Mustangs are heavy muscle cars.. so no comparison.. check this stock Z06 video to recognize some of C6 Z06 rivals:

Corvette C6 Z06 vs. Lamborghini Gallardo

regarding those parts I mentioned.. they are 5.0 parts, they can fit any Ford Small Block Windsor without any modifications.. that includes Cobra and HO Mustangs up to 1995.. but they're derived from 95 Ford Explorer truck 5.0 engines, that are similar to the Cobra engines. Pre-modular Cobras all use GT40 heads & intake manifolds.. the Explorer uses similar but with a variety in flow numbers.. of course, better flow means more horsepower (period).

For comparison between different Mustang Heads flow numbers click
All Ford Mustangs Head Information Center
For more information on the mentioned GT40P heads click
Ford GT40P Cylinder Heads or contact Dennis Hilliard of Central Coast Mustangs as GT40P's are his toys
For more information on Explorer GT40 intakes click
AFM Explorer Intake Install
and don't forget to carefully select your cam & your injector/MAF sizes.. don't go too big on these parts.

The 94-95 cobra is the same thing as the gt except the intake manifold and some other minor things. I got my 95 gt for 4,000. You said between 4-5,000 so you could do some mods with that extra 1000.

you should get a lot of power out of a 5.0 for a little under 5k, if you change the heads, get new headers, and put in a new cam, you can beat most stock cobras.
