12 Second Combo

I have a 89 LX 4cyl that Im going to V8 just looking for some advice I was thinking about a set of Edelbrock performer rpm heads, victor jr airgap intake and a 750 dp hooked to a t5 and a 8.8 witha 3:73 gear not sure on what cam to pick though and if 12's are a reasonable time, long term goal is to reach 10.5 comp and have the most motor i can get to run on pump gas. I want to build something that can handle pretty much anything on the street but can run decent on the track to. thanks for the advice

how much money are looking to spend and do you have any of the v8 parts yet??

No I don't have any of the parts yet but I'm figuring on about $3500 for the engine

That is probably a bit low. You might be looking at about 4500. You can run into A LOT of problems while building an engine.
