What I heard about stick Vs AOD
T5's or sticks 1> Hold better value on resale on stangs 2>lighter when racing 3> Are a dime a dozen but a decent clutch pedal assembly are hard to find. Most are missing wiring harness for the Emergency Brake Light. Don't know what else it does cause I own an Automatic.

AOD Automatic overdrives 1> Are 2X heavier 2> Last longer than a Manuel 3> can easily dominate a stick if done right in the trans and rear end and motor.

This is what I hear from other stang fanatics. I guess its just what you prefer!.

I want a stick shift but I may go threw a T5 every 3 years if I bird dog the trans alot vs. an Automatic.

Im not trying to take attention away from comithehomie, but i'm having the same dilemma.. I want to get manual but traffic is ridiculous around here. Im from manhattan NY, and its my first car.. n i was under the idea that a mustang must always be stick.. what u do guys say?

stock vs stock the 5 speed is much better , on the other hand if you add a decent stall speed and valve body ( or shift kit ) to the automatic trans then the auto and stick are pretty much on par

i would take a stick car over auto anyday i hate auto with stick your really feel like ur driving a car and not just lookin at a road you tend to drive a little faster though

and if you are really really racing going to tracks auto is better no matter how fast you can shift i have a friend with a camaro it was running 10's he did an auto swap got him into 9's

ok, so i just learned to drive stick. its fun as hell. 1 of the girls from work met me at pierce college in so cal and let me use her lil jetta. didnt do to bad at all i dont think. i stalled the car like 7 times, maybe 6 or 5. 1st gear is the hardest shit as all of u with sticks know. so i jumped a lil bit but it was my first time so gimme a break lol. need to for sure work on shifting into first on hills and shit. gotta get better at shifting to first in general. all in all was a good day. and has helped me lean towards my decision on whether to get a stick or an aod. as of now leaning towards stick. anybody selling a really shitty manual car in so cal for a few hundred bucks let me know. i'd be interested in buying it.

its not so much the torque, as just being able to shift into first quick enough so i dont roll back 2 much
