Problem With A/C In 88 Mustang Convertible LX

Hey! I just bought a 1988 Mustang Convertible LX but I'm having problems with the a/c...and I live in Myrtle Beach, and trust me the a/c is needed at times! The a/c works BUT builds up too much high pressure in the a/c system and the engine cooling fan does not come on to cool condenser. Any ideas what's going on????

HELP and THANKS in advance!!!

Check all your vaccuum lines. I cant stress that enough. My buddy has a '96 and we couldnt figure out what was up with the AC. So we were looking and we saw one of the vaccuum lines detatched. So we connected it and presto. Also regarding the fan, that could be the thermostat. Or does it work normally just not with AC? if thats the case back to vacuum lines.
