IAT sensor problem

I've been having problems with my car lately so I decided to mess around with the sensors after checking my codes(which told me my car is running to lean) I decided to take off the IAT sensor and run it, it ran better than ever, better throttle response and what seemed like 50% more horse power and torque. Could anyone tell me what I should do now?

Replace the IAT. Also, sometimes on the 94/95 5.0 cars, getting an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and richen them up a little helps the idle quality and power.

Oh and would my IAT being bad be the reason my codes showed up saying my engine is running lean?
