Anything that wraps around your body and is legal for your car is a legal seatbelt. You must be talking about the 4 or 5 point harness for your seatbelt usage. Yes they are legal. IF YOU BELT IS ATTACHED TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN YOUR SEAT ITSELF... Not shouting just making it clear.

no they are not legal. I know this for a fact. Keep your original belts in too, when you install harnesses.

They are not DOT approved, it says so right on the harnesses. You'll get a ticket if you get pulled over and if the stock belts are removed you can get a pretty big fine.

Its a crash test issue, not a state to state issue. you got lucky. Being illeagle does not mean that your gonna get busted every time, or even at all.

Ahh yeah he's right about the DOT approved though I forgot about that. Now the question is, does your inspection place really care about "inspectiong" your car? or do you go there and they look at your car, honk the horn and smack a fresh sticker on LOL

That doesn't mean anything, they are not DOT approved. I have two cars with 500 parts combined that are not street legal, but I still have them registered.

If you get pulled over by someone with a stick her ass, you'll be walking home, or worse.

i was arrested a few years back for streetracing in my caged Capri with 5 point harnesses and a seatbelt ticked was about the ticket i didn't recieve. they aren't DOT but i'd say wether or not you get ticketed depends on where you live and how big of d!cks the cops are there. i will add i live in Kansas and we have no vehicle inspections.

Inspection guy pops the hood..."Hey theres four more cylinders here"

Anyways, keeping the original seatbelts and the harness isn't a bad idea. Just a little extra weight.

No they are not legal. They are not DOT approved and can not be used outside of a race track. That is a fact not an opinion. I've fought this battle with the state patrol.
