I love notchbacks with cobra rims, black paint, and a 3 inch cowl. If i ever come across a notch for sale, and i have the money, that is what i am buying. I saw alot of them here in bowling green for the NMRA. this place was steaming with any kind of mustang you could think of. it was friggin sweet.

The 87-89 mustangs are beautiful cars. I own an 88 convertable 5.0 and i love it. It's also still in the stage where you can basically pull the interior appart yourself and do a custom paint job. I'm in the process of taking out certain pieces like the front vents, the speaker covers, etc and I'm spray painting them red or black.

what u want is a '89 5.0 lx coupe (notchback) solid frame and body w/o the GT ground styles (they add 300+ lbs)
the 89 hass mass air and forged pistons but does not have the driver's airbag which started in 1990. B4 u start with anything power wise u need to strengthen the frame... i've seen many a friend drop $1000's into the engine only to twist frames and break rear-end suspension. once the frame is good work on the suspension, brakes and tubed cage. with all that done u can put serious power to the ground and not have to worry bout the little stuff... |
