CAL smog issues-EGR
I just got back from deployment and had to smog the beast. Well I failed and was explained that there was no vacuum to the EGR. Mechanic explained that there was no suction going away from the EGR. I looked in the manual and couldn't figure out what was wrong. He even said that the EGR is good. Im at a stand still now...any help would be appreciated..

your egr is controled by the computer if you look on the pass side between the strut tower and the fire wall you will see a vaccum plug that has 3 or 4 lines in it one of those goes the egr and another goes to the main vaccum tree over by the wiper motor. these lines are usually plastic and become brittle and crack creating a vaccum leak that most people just block off but then you lose the vaccum to operate the egr make sure all the lines are hooked up
