painted intake


i painted my intake on my lunch break at work, its pretty sick now and hopefully ill get it on the car this weekend.

the sand blasters at my school are both broke so i just went over it with scotchbite and 180 sand paper and it looks alrite for now. i mine clear coat it b4 i put it on also

i dont know yet i have the exploder 5.0 v8 name plate as well im gonna play with it a little see wat looks good wen i put the intake on the car.

Ive been thinking of doing the same thing to my performer intake. What kinda paint did you use on it? Looks good!

just paint the whole 5.0 plate and scuff the top with light sandpaper and all the raised stuff will be silver

i used high temp engine paint. put it on a cardboard box and did it on the side walk outside my work on my lunch break lol

i would clear coat it, looks better and will last longer

i dont think so. but if he went and did that to his valve covers, yes.

i painted my intake to but i painted it silver i think you should do the 5.0 name plate and the v8 thing it would look pretty sick man it looks awesome right now though dude keep up the work .....

well aluminum is a poress material thats why its disapated in the first place so painting it fills the pores and doesnt make it disapate heat as well but painted aluminum is a hell of alot better than cast iron.

i liked mine in bright red with black plate and the lettering was silver...now its pealing

Actually painted metal dissipates heat better than unpainted metal. Physics 101.
