Stock 3.73?

Hey guys I was j/w if any gt's came stock with 3.73 some guy around here I saw with a fox I stopped and talked to him and he said his came with stock 3.73's?

BS or for real?

some mustangs did, some of the LX's 2.3 autos had 373's

thats all i know that came stock

ok he had a GT 90 maybe 91 I think he said, I didnt think they did but sure..

Never heard of them coming stock...

I can see the 2.3's getting them becuase they DEFINATELY need something to multiply the torque multiplier...(The N/A 2.3 For Sure)

But as far as a V8 car getting them I dont think so...

yea i had a 99 gt with stock 3.27's, and my fox has 3.08's stock

bout ta be 3.73s in a week

Nope there was a select few that came with 3.55s too

But 2.78 is by far the most popular

Yea 93 cobras came with 3.55's

+1 some did come with 3.55's. SSP's did and others as well. all i know is i still have 3.27's

A lot of F150s came with 3.73 gears stock...no fox mustangs

AUTO-2:86 (or somethin like that)

STANDARD-3:08

or vise versa

im pretty sure the only gears that came in ANY foxbody were 2:73's and 3:08's...the cobra's were 3:55's and the 2.3L's were a taller gear but they utilized the 7.5" rear end not the 8.8" so dont plan to swap those

Where are you guys getting your information----using each other as your source???? All 93 Cobras came with 3.08s---period, end of story.

I scanned in a page from the November 1992 Mustang & Fords that talks about the gearing in the 93 Cobra. Although I didn't scan it in, I also have the October 1993 Super Ford where it previewed the 93 Cobra R where it states that it too came with 3.08s.

No V8 Fox came with anything higher than a 3.08 from Ford. They would have had to recertify these cars for emissions if they put in a rear gear numerically higher than that-which is expensive and something I don't think Ford wanted to do in the last year of the Fox.

Where did the EDIT option go???? I thought I would clarify something before I get flamed----3.08s in V8 stick cars and 3.27s in V8 automatics.
