EGR help fast please!!!!

Hey guys i have a 87 mustang gt but i just put new motor in. There is a hole on backside of each sylinder that smokes an occasionaly spits fire. My friend said its were smog tubes are supposed to be. All smog system was gone when i got the car. Is there someone who sales block off plates or something to fix my problem. Thanks guys.

find what size the thred on those holes are and go buy a plug for it or just put a bolt in it..

Alright. DO you know what places i was talking about? And would them being open cause alot of smoke?

you they cause alot of smoke. EXHAUST comes out of there. I cant remember what size bolt it is but just quess on a bolt until you get it right and screw a bolt in there and it will stop

ya its for the smog shit its is coming from the exhaust ports going through those holes in the back of the head

it is the same size as one of the bolts on the front that screw on the head...

They are called thermactor plugs, look them up on google to find the size.

you can use a 5/8-11 bolt 3/4" long

sorry one more question. Would these plugs not being in cause the car to idle funny?

possibly, it would be like having a vacuum leak into the EGR system. Your pumping in air instead of exhaust, which would probably cause the computer to throw a code and be confused.

I fixed the holes, an my smoke problem but i still have an ideling problem. Any suggestions were to start looking/checking
