Idle problem


Hey, my mustang is idleing rough. Any suggestions on were to start looking/checking. 89 5.0

Lol im going threw this whole thing how does it idle? rough you mean like up down up down or high or low?

Mine idles at 3k and its cause of a Vaccum leak and im lookin into it

IAC valve "idle air control", check your timing, do a tune up "plugs cap rotor coil" IAC can be cleaned with carb cleaner

if its a constant 3k idle yes id look at vaccum, but in this guys case if its jsut rough idle id say start with IAC and check voltage on tps while your at it

Yeah I had a similar problem with my car, and took some carb cleaner and cleaned out the IAC. Maybe I was lucky, but it fixed my cars idle.
