manual valve body means that you have to shift the gears no matter what.....it doesnt shift by itself.....im not sure what he means by lockin convertor......but you can get a stall convertor which basically lets you launch at higher rpm and if you get serious enough you can get a transbrake but that for really big stall convertors really

it has a B&M holeshot 2,800-3,200 converter in it now. the only manual valve body i was able to find for the aode was a PA from Jegs for $862!

took it to my buddy's shop today. no codes. we are going to take the tranny out and ship it back to PA while it's under warranty.

good luck. its most likely internal. the E on the AODE means its using electrical inputs and uotputs (not vacuum lines). it is most likely internal...very common on factory transmissions (GM anyway lol 4L60s are good once rebuilt). thinking a sprag or shift solenoid. shouldnt be a forward clutch housing/input drum since you have some forward gears. if it had to do with the computer then youd have more problems with the trans.

thanks. when the new tranny gets back from PA i'm gonna try to sell it and make the swap to manual so i can then swap to carburation.
