New Engine?


so my 94 gt blows smoke underfull throttle when under a load only. it smells like oil. i cant tell if its ciming from undernieth or through the tail pipes. any suggestions?

Keep an eye on your oil level...

Also I would say try and find where the smoke is coming from...That would be the first thing you should find out...

You should easily be able to tell if it coming from the exhaust pipes or just oil dripping on the exhaust. Have a buddy rev it up and check it out. Is it using oil? How about the coolant level? As somebody stated - white smoke = probably coolant and a bad head gasket. Blue smoke = burning oil = probably bad rings and time for a rebuild. A compression test may also help you isolate the problem.

my buddy said its coming out the pipes and from underneith the car. it smells like oil to me but i havent noticed it using any. the coolant is full also.

Check you valve cover gaskets for leaks first. Then work your way down. You should be able to tell fairly easily if you have oil/tranny fluid leaking on your exhaust manifolds/pipes.
