gears 1st,...than more boost.you can safely run more psi on stock block etc. i believe about 8psi... i wouldnt go much more than that. and than get a throttle body and a pair of nice intakes. that should funnel in the air more efficiently.

5psi?!! I can blow harder than that... I would have bought the Trick Flow HCI combo and you would have been better off...

A nice pair of intakes? We are talkin about a 5.0 right?

I know one 89 that has run 11psi with Powerdyne many years, stock internals, ported e7s and better head gaskets, but i dont remember what they were anymore. I talked to him before i choosed to supercharge my car.

I have been running 10-12 on a stock bottom end for a while now in my 88 GT and an unknown amount of time before I bought it. It is a Ford Motorsport 5.0 crate engine but the short block is basically the same thing as every other 5.0. The head gaskets are fine and my compression tests have been very consistent (about 175 +-5 across all cylinders). Although I have no indication of excessive blow-by, I have issues with oil "seepage" from just about every sealing surface. I don't know if that is normal for a boosted car or not but I think the car sat for a while because the rubber valve cover gaskets were dry and hard. I assume the other sealing surfaces are shot as well.
