knocking from rear end

driving the car today and there is a knocking noise coming from the driver side rear as I slow down and I'm lost as to wat this could be

i had a horrible popping sound coming from the rear of my car shortly after getting the rear end fluids changed right after i bought the car used. The mechanic used some cheap napa brand friction modifier, after i bought some Friction modifier from an Off road truck shop that was a lot nicer than the napa stuff it hasn't popped since. not sure if its the same prob ur having though

Yeah, I try to stay away from the "Store Brands" that claim to be as good as the rest. I've ran into some serious problems with store brand oils and even stuff for "Gas milage"

Sounds like a pinion or axle bearing, but they usually roar

yeah i think tis has to do with my rear drum talked to a mechanic and he said the drum might be cracked and after looking at it one of my brake pads back there has a nice crack in it so im gonna change that stuff out today and check back in
