I found the stuff I'll us, it's the Valvoline Dec-Mec or whatever it say's. I had autozone look up what type fliud was used in my tranny for the year of my car and it was Dextron and Mecron something. So I got the valvoline dex-mec.

I would love to hear how that works for ya.

I'm about to install a new clutch and flywheel here soon. I have a King Cobra Clutch kit with fly wheel for my 1989 mustang gt 5-speed.

not even sure how many quarts go in the tranny to fill it. I have heard 3 or 4 quarts. i'm starting to lean towards royal purple brand, or Red Line.

you have a manual transmission? who makes that tranny fluid? how many miles have you been running it for? and howmany miles are on your mustang? I'm assuming you're talking about the fox body in your av pic.

Thank you.

I just ordered 4 quarts of Royal Purple Synchromax manual transmission fluid.

GM sycromesh, at least the only one I know of. Royal purple sycromax is probably their version of it, if I had to guess.

If you have gear oil in it, get it out NOW. I will muck your trans up. Ask me about the local parts store that told me I needed that for my trans 10 years ago. Not a lol moment.

Royal Purples description of what the synchromax does for our transmissions sounded spot on to me. I read up on it alittle at www.royalpurple.com

I'm a diehard ford guy but this is really the best fluid for a T 5 or Tremec . My TKO shifted like butter with this in it.
