Carbon Fiber Driveshaft
I am looking into driveshafts now for my 93. Was looking at an aluminum but was talking with my bro and he said to look into a carbon fiber one. He has an 04 mach 1 with a carbon fiber shaft and loves it I even helped him put it on and it weighs next to nothing. He has had no problems at all.
What do yall think, any input welcome, should I go aluminum or carbon fiber? |

Carbon fiber driveshafts are hella expensive, I don't think it's worth it. Aluminum wouldn't even be worth it if it weren't for Ford's crappy balancing on the stock shafts.

Isn't carbon fiber more prone to failure than its aluminum counterpart? I've heard this from several guys at the track and based on that I'd stick with aluminum, just for the durability - CF might be a bit lighter but are you willing to risk it? If you're not launching a ton though it probably won't make any difference IMHO.

A carbon fiber driveshaft is lighter and stronger than aluminum but also much more expensive. Pro Stock runs carbon fiber shafts. Carbon fiber is not for your average street car. For high horsepower serious cars go with carbon fiber, all others go with aluminum.
