Valves??????
I have a set of 1965 289 heads that i am porting out and when i pulled the valves out they look great and i think they are oversized for the vintage.
Intakes are 1.94 and the exhaust are 1.60. the numbers stamped on the valves are as follows Intake, 7222 S3268, and exhaust is, 7373 A3283 do they mean anything and should they be replaced. any info would help. thanks |

I think you are wasting your time, effort and money unless the seats have been replaced with hardened seats. Old heads need lead to lubricate the exhaust valve seats. If they already have hardened seats then you will see a small improvement over E7 heads.
