Yeah maybe said the wrong thing about the MIL which I admit, but no need to jump off at someone that's only trying to help. Just because you have a fogged 306 don't make you more knowledgable than the next person so chill

I've also had experience with running cats and no smog pump, the cats did fail. I've also seen it a few times on other peoples cars too. I did some research on it and found that the fresh air pumped into the exhaust on these cars mixed with the hot exhaust gasses allows for further burning of the unburnt fuel. With this pump not present, the cats will eventually clog up from having to work overtime from having more fuel mixture present and not enough air in them, and will fail. It may take a few months, it may take much longer, but in the end it will happen.
