How Do I Prime An Oil Pump

How do i prime my oil pump...i know it involves removing the distributor and using a drill somehow...Or can i just turn the motor over without the coil plugged in because the bottom end has been run but its been at least 2 years.

To use a drill you need a spare distributer shaft and you modify it to fit in the chuck of the drill.. I've never actually done it so this is secondhand knowledge, but I have actually seen it done. There may be other ways too, I'm sure someone else will chime in.

1/4 inch socket taped to a long 1/4 inch extension, chuck in the drill and run it counterclockwise.

Heck, I went out and actually bought the priming tool, but the other things that were mentioned will work out fine.

If it's been two years I say spin it until you get oil up to the heads, turn the crank over 180* and do it again,,,just to be safe.
