Thanks! I'll have to ask him what he did. I think it might be the explorer engine. Is that bad? Is it any better than the 86 5.0? I am worried about the pistons in mine with the flat top. I feel like I should take something with the better head setup, b/c that would save me a lot of ass pain in upgrading the engine. I don't want to pull 10's just high 13's or a little less. That's good info though. Thanks again.

well you dont even need to do that..set-up ur suspension and you can get 12s pretty easy...get some sub-frame connectors, a strut tower brace, struts, shocks, springs, control arms, drag radials..and then get an aluminum driveshaft, good clutch, short throw shifter, gears..and have like exhuast and you'd prob break mid 12s...with stock motor

You are exactly right. I just talked to him. He is going to put on aftermarket BBK headers this weekend. He has decided not to trade also. He says that he needs it all in cash. Ah well....maybe next time. He says they are gt40p heads with an X303 cam. He says it runs really well, but at idle it sort of shudders. So now i have to try and sell mine and buy his!!! Wish me luck.

No nookie. Possibly a cookie. For sure I am impressed. Thanks to everyone who responded to this thread, I learned quite a bit.

Im actually south of Tucson. I live in Rancho Sahuarita? It's a pretty new community, so depending on when you moved it may not have even existed yet. I already have the vert on Craigslist. I think I'm gonna try and get a notchback. Rookie mistake, made - and - learned from
