clutch quadrant spring


i changed my clutch cable and i ended up taking the quadrant off and now i cant get the spring back into place!!! i was thinking about it and it just keeps tension on the quadrant...we;; doesnt the clutch cable do that?? is that spring really nessassary i plan on putting in an aftermarket one in the future so can i get away with not putting that spring on??

If it's the stock nylon quadrant it probably has someyhing to do with the self adjusting pawl. Not absolutely certain as I never paid much attention when I was taking them out to change to the aftermarket ones.

that is exactly what it is for but i have an adjustable clutch cable now so i think i can get away with not using the spring till i get the aftermarket quadrant..

they are like 40... i am going to get one but the tune is more important right now...but no worrys i figured it out its all back together.. but now i think i pulled something out cause now i have no fuel pump or electric fan again.... ill figure that out tonight..

Popped the relay again? Could be a bad computer ground.

As far as the spring, without it the pawl may disengage and the clutch pedal go straight to the floor. Could be a bad thing if it happens at the wrong time. ( not sure, looking for a diagram in the manuals, should have saved one of the damn things)

no it was clicking i knew where it was comin from i broke a wire pulling the bracket that holds the clutch cable on the engine bay wall...all fixed..

its all good now i got the spring back in it feels real good i havent gotten to drive it yet though..
