Stock 89 mustang GT heads...Stage III port flowage???
has anyone ever ported stock 89 mustang Gt heads 5.0. What was the most you could get them to flow. CFM
Is it worth it or just buy another set of heads. I want heads that flow 260cfm on up @ .500 lift

i had an 86 carbed 5.0 with a crower cam , vr jr intake, 650 carb, t 5 , 410s and ported stock heads, it ran 12.20s @ 113 on 275 50 15 drag radials
a buddy of mine had an 85 gt with a stock bottom end , big cam, performer rpm intake, 750 carb, c 4, convertor, 410s, ported stock heads ( the same guy ported my heads too ) and ran 10.70s @ 122 on a 200 shot and slicks |

no, the guy that ported the heads really seems to know his stuff, he can do anything, builds awesome motors, fabricates rears, tubs cars, does cages, ports heads and intakes, he's ported a lot of stock heads and he just knows what to do to them to make good power
but i wouldn't attempt to port heads myself , i'd find a reputable guy or just buy some aluminum heads |

You will never get 260 @ .500 out of a stock E7 head. 260 @ .500 is a tall order. Good head porters get 200-210cfm @ .500 out of E7 heads. I wouldn't waste my time or money. Been there, done that back in the 90s. By some good heads and be done with it.

Damn.... 200-210 is generous, I'd say. 260cfm @ .500 is a tall order even for some of the best "stock style" aftermarket heads. I'm guessing that would be in the high 290s @ .700. |

I was being generous. The highest flowing E7s I've seen went 203@.500 on the intake side.

230 cfm is the most I've seen on E7s by a pro...........maybe someone else can get more but I haven't seen it.
