Question

high volt reading?

hey i have a 95 gt and the gauge for the volts keeps reading high, right around the "al" in "normal" (sorry for the non-technical information), not quite to a critical point but its seems like it is slowly reading higher and higher over the last few weeks, but it also very slowly increases as my car runs.
Thanks for the help.

Could be the gauge but it could also be the voltage regulator or a bad connection around the alternator. Check the voltage with a voltmeter while the car is running to verify if it is high or not. Consistent higher than normal voltage can cause a battery failure.

Get a multimeter and measure the voltage across the battery with the car running. As long as it is under 15 volts with the car running you are good to go. If it is higher, go get a new alternator.
