tire size need help

i heard that 275 50 is the biggest tire you can have on the rear of the mustang gt 1992. is that true can ou put 275 60 with out no wheel well work and what the widest i can put i wanted to try 295 but not sure what needs to be done

i have 275 40r17 nitto drag radials on 9" wide rim and you wont need more tire than that, its fn wide dude and hooks like a mofo

Why do you need a big tire? A 275/60 will not work without modification on GTs. On an LX, you can get away with it if you roll the fender lips, but i would stick with a 275/50.
