world class? non world class?


was looking at trannys on ebay and was wondering what the difference is between world class and non world class t-5s

the "non- world class" have a lower torque capacity and use brass bushings and gear oil rather than the ATF and timken roller bearings in the "world class model"

The easiest way to tell them apart is the bearing cap near the front retainer. The older style has a freeze plug type cap. The world class T5 has a greyish metal timken cap.

There is also a difference between the synchros.

world class came in all mustangs form 85-95 if u get a new transmission get a w/c and i think u are looking on ebay for rebuild kits....dont buy one unless u like wasteing money... u only need about $75 worth of parts from that $200 kit...
