331-stroker buildup

Ok I decided on a combo ima go with a 331 stroker with 150 shot figure it’s the best setup for me right now so I’m going to take it from beginning to end on here and along the way maybe I can get some advice I know I’m going to need it I went to the machine shop (fisher automotive Edison N.J.) he’s been building motor for like 30 something years and have done a lot of work for some of the people in my car club (team envy 2nd to none) he gave me a price of $750.00 to do the block everything deck bore hone balance the kit with clutch dampener and flywheel that sound like a good price and he also toll me not to get kith black pistons cause they suck and if I spry it they probably will melt he said to go with JE pistons , don’t know but ima go with what he says I haven’t had time to pull the motor because been working on other people cars so that I can get more money for my car but maybe next weekend ima pull the motor out and take it to him so that he can get it started ill keep yall posted

Ive never met anyone whos had problems with Keith Blacks. Ive only heard good things about JEs but there is gonna be a pretty good difference in price. I know a few guys running JEs and have had no problems wth them and recomend them too.

If yout going to try and make this thing last and make any power above 450 rwhp you NEED to find a aftermarket race block. The stock ones are junk at those power levels.

I have custom Ross pistions, well soon see how good they are. But after much research thats what I went with. Mine were a weird size (.040) so more expensive ($900).

And If youe going stroker, go with the 347! No point not to. CI = power

HOW MUCH POWER CAN A STOCK BLOCK TAKE?. I REALY WOULD LIKE TO SEE, WHAT KIND OF POWER A STOCK BLOCK CAN TAKE. WHAT IF I DON’T RUN IT WITH THE NOS? I DON`T HAVE THE $ TO GO ALL OUT SO I KIND OF DOING IT ON A BUGET WHAT KIT WOULD YALL RECOMMEND

What kind of power kind I expect from a setup like these?
Ford racing e cam
347-stroker kit
10.5:1 pistons
Gt 40 p heads
1.6 roller rockers and lifters
Professional product upper and lower intake
Just want an idea of how mush hp the motor can make with out the juice.

LOL You tell em speed!! The only problem I see with "trying to find out what kind of power a stock block makes" is that to find out where it peaks you will have to damn near push it to destruction. If that happens, youre back to square one and you will be going with a race block anyways. Just my .02, but I would take 55s advice and avoid all the extra b.s.. Ive never done a buildup on a 5.0 but Ive been told that you are pushing the edge trying to make 500 hp. That is about what youre looking for and if you plan on putting it through the paces of a real performance car, you will be driving a ticking timebomb. Not to mention, you will eventually get bored with 450 hp and start trying to make more. When this happens you will either be going with a race block or blowing up your stock block trying to do it.

With a setup like that you will be safe. I bet 300-320 rwhp with out the bottle.

I would save for some nice aluminum heads too.
