I heard that that welds break on them and the coating comes off and they start to look bad pritty quick, but thats just talk, ever use them yourself Iwannagofast, or anyone ya know? Just curious, i was looking at them myself actually, if its not true or just BS then all the better!

I got MAC 1 3/4 L/Ts on my '93, I had to run the steering shaft through them on the d/s and loosen motor and tranny mounts to get them in, I would get a steering shaft from flaming river or something b/c mine still hits once in a while.

For the price, Summit's are a good value. The welds never cracked on mine but I had the rest of the exhaust properly hung with HD hangers with no stress on the headers. The "coating" is just cheap heat paint that burns off the first time you fire it up. TP in Canfield, OH sells a killer coating that will look great for years. I would strip the factory paint and coat them before I put them on. Any of the lower cost headers will be painted, in fact the high dollar Hookers I bought were painted. I had them shot blasted and ceramic coated before I installed them.

BBKs are a good quality cheap header. They fit nice, have a nice finish, durable, ball and socket leak proof collector and 1/2 thick flange that will not warp or leak. For the quality you can't beat the price of BBK headers.

Choosing between primary sizes, at what point should one go with 1 3/4"? Cause i've seen that you can do nice numbers with 1 5/8"s also.
Sure you have, josephnyoung1@yahoo.com, guy whose LX catch a little fire. You posted in his thread

i have a set of the summit long tubes on my car. and i absolutely hate them. fuckers leak everywhere. 1st set leaked where the tubes slide together. took them back, got a 2nd set welded them up where they slip together and bolted them on. cept the divers side had to use the 1 slip tube on that side cause it goes around the steering shaft. Ironic i found this thread cause not 10 mins ago I was laying in the bed thinking. I think Im gonna get some bbk headers Im sick of these I have now!
