i wana pull off the upper intake manifold......


is it hard to take off? and do i have to replace the gasket if i do?

Not really hard to do at all, just mark the hoses and wires you pull off with masking tape and a marker, usually works nice for me. Also get ziplock baggies for the bolts and label the bags too. and yes you will need to get a new gasket. Make sure you scrape the surface down if theres any gasket material left on there after you split the manifold, and stuff paper towels into the holes of the lower while you scrape so you don't get big chunks into your cc's.

also taking a few pictures of misc. vacuum lines, etc.
will make it a little easier the first time.... good luck.

no ya dont need a new upper gasket, unless some toolbag has glued it on for some dumb reason.

He asked about the upper intake. If he takes the lower off then yes you will need new gaskets for the lower.
To remove the upper there are 6 13mm bolts that hold that on. Then remove the 2 10 mm bolts that hold the throttle linkage on the EGR spacer. leave the throttle body and egr spacer bolted on, unless you have a reason for taking those off.
