which computer is the best?

I have an 89 lx 5.0 auto., which for some reason had a A9L computer. Which I have read is for a 5 spd. So I went and found a A9P which is specific for an auto.. I have also read that the A9P has more aggressive fuel and timing then the A9L computer. Anyone have any ifo. on this issue? Only had it in for a short time but don't really notice much

YEA THE A9L CAME IN THE 5 SPEEDS WITH MASS AIR AND THE AOD'S HAD THE A9P...THEY ARE BOTH GOOD COMPUTERS...IN MY OPINION I WOULDNT EVEN CHANGE THE COMPUTER.... ASLONG AS YOU GOT THE MASS AIR COMPUTER YOU ARE FINE...SOME PEOPLE THAT HAVE A 5 SPEED AND HAVE SPEED DENSITY GO WITH THE A9P BECUASE IT IS SAID TO HAVE MORE AGGRESSIVE TUNING BECUASE OF THE SLUGGISHNESS OF THE AOD...BUT ALL IN ALL THEY ARE BOTH GREAT ECU'S...IF YOU WANT GOAHEAD AND SWAP THE A9P FOR THE A9L, THEN SELL THE A9L ON EBAYMOTORS...IT ALWAYS SELLS FOR ATLEAST A 100.00 BUCKS...HOPE I HELPED YOU OUT GOODLUCK...

I wouldn't change anything. If you want some extra tuning ability try to find a Ford Racing Extender or some other type of add on.
