New Guy Needs Help (5.0 Runs Rough)

hey im new here i just bought an 88 fox body lx 5.0 its an auto and the idle is rough when put into gear and sometimes dies on me. any suggestion? ive been a mech for about 5 years now and i cant figure it out.

sounds like the tps , cleand the top end yet , or check for air leaks

Check for Codes. it probably is something simple like gear switch, speed sensor, or IAC...the codes will tell us for sure. let us know

take off the idle air control unit spray it with carb cleaner thro it back on,check the spark plugs gaps or just put new ones on and check your wires,check for vacuum leaks, and turn up the idle a tad and see what happens

i wouldn't adjust the idle until you know whats wrong with it...that usually leads to a surging idle. my2cents
