I drive the LX 80 miles round trip to work on nice days, no problems, it is a nice driver. My DD is a 03 tiburon that I bought new. I'm thinking about a new DD sometime soon though.

Aren't they supposed to cover the tires and everything not getting painted? I don't know exactly what I'm looking at. Also, I'm green when it comes to cars. It looks like it will cost a lot of money to do whatever it is being done there Can't wait to see the end product. Good luck!

** wanted to add - i like those rims.

Yea they do cover the wheels. They have been wetsanding the car, it looks like, and probably took the tire covers for another car, or moved the car recently. You're just looking at the car being prepped, it looks like all the major body work has been done and they are just spraying it with primer and checking for low spots and then ready for paint.

Yeah, they were wet sanding. I'm sure the wheels will be off the car when it gets paint. These guys have been very particular about how they do things, so I am not really worried at all. So far everything has been awesome.

It's alright, handles the winters really well with dedicated snow tires. I ran a 15.0 with it at the track with only a CAI and summer tires.

I disagree, they are a cheap deal you can get a V6 with 6 speed manual leather seats and all the goodies for just over 20 K new and I have almost 70,000 miles on mine and I haven't had to take it to the dealership for unscheduled maintenance once. Even if I did, it has a 10 year warranty. It is a comfortable car, accelerates decently, and looks good. My two major complaints are the gas mileage is terrible on the highway for a small 6 and the resale value ... well you might as well run it into the ground b/c it isn't worth selling a 5 year old car for 1/5 what you paid for it.

My Hyundai experience has been mixed. I have a 2003 Elantra with the 2.0l 4. I think I paid about 12K fully loaded (traction control/ABS/rear disc etc..). Great car for the money.

Everything was perfect until about 60K, in the last 12K miles the crank walked and took out the engine in a matter of seconds, shortly after that spark packs went bad, then the cats clogged, the E brake sticking, and now the airbag light. To make matters worse, the service department at the dealer in my area sucks ass. At least they have paid for the engine related things under the warranty including the 3 times it was towed. I know others that have them and have not had any problems at all but I'm on the fence on if I'd recommend one to someone.

Yeah, I guess I did have to replace the window door motor at somepoint. I agree that things have gotten a little ragged in the last 10K miles, but overall, I feel like I have gotten my moneys worth out of the car. The problem now is it is past due for the timing belt to be replaced and it costs $700...not sure I am going to do it. It is probably worth just driving it until it blows up and saving the $700 for my next car.
