Fuel problems....Any help?

Have a 1993 Mustang LX 5.0 hatch, manual. Ok....

Stock as can be, with the exception of 3.55 gears, flows catback, sn95 fuel rails, BBK adj. fuel regulator, Trickflow upper and lower w/ 1 inch spacer and JLT CAI.

Problems before, hard starts. terrible gas milage ( 121 per tank not beating on it ) when running with 13* of timing and set at 38psi of fuel pressure when keying it off i would have no fuel pressure. Doesnt hold.

First thoughts were bad adj. fuel regulator, removed vaccum line...no fuel. So thought it was good visually. Didnt check fuel pump because its in my tank. But its stock to my knoldege. Also thought fuel injectors were leaking...nope. Keyed it up with them off and they all hold pressure.

I have my car now with no exhaust and down to a bare block.

Its a project and will post a Project thread to keep youre eyes open. Going H/C/I and vortech intercooled.

Anywhoo....took off the upper intake and found when looking at the first 4 holes on the gasket which would be ( 1, 5, 2, 6 ?? ) the last one was super wet. Both gaskets and spacer was. Then the last 4 holes were all wet. So after removing the upper portion i found the vaccum log hose to the intake was wet.

Checked out the vaccum line going from the adj. fuel regulator to the intake was rubbing in two places, one place very lightly. the second place looked like possibly kinked or a pin hole through it. But i thought if it had that it would stall. But doesnt runs pretty well and idles nice. Just terrible gas milage and hard starts.

Im confused....need help.....

Maybe it will magically be fixed. Its down to bare block right now and getting Bassani equal lenghts, BBK catted pipe and catback. GT40X heads, 1.6 RR's, trickflow intake, f-cam, 24lb inj's and MAF. Maybe it will fix itself. haha. i doubt it.

it could be an injector problem, your f/p will bleed off over a small amt of time....Iwonder if you floored it,it would start right up..was tps good? egr unclogged? was maf calibrated?

i keyed it up with all injectors in the rails and none of them leaked. thats my first thoughts. fuel pressure bled off immediatly. i know what you mean by flooring it when starting by killing injector pulse. but i never tried it. it ran very nice and the egr was not clogged. the maf is stock and also the 19lb'ers were stock.

unfortunatly i cant try any tests right now because the car is down to bareblock. i alsoscanned it with an NGS and came up empty handed as far as codes go.

Sounds like a bad injector(s) or possibly a fuel leak. Pulling spark plugs right after you shut the car down should tell you if you have a leaking injector.

Well i pulled them shorty after i started it and pulled into the garage. And no signs of problems on the plugs. Which is mind boggling in itself. I am including some pics of the teardown and problem areas. Hope it helps.
