GEAR questions?

I currently have a 4.10 gear in the rear and i feel like im not utilizing the torque of the motor. I think that if i went to like a 3.73 i might notice an improvement. don't get me wrong it launches hard but i spend more time shifting than anything else. I had a thought, please chime in if i am way off course here. if i buy a 3.55 gear set and did some mis matching i could end up with 4 possible variations. 3.55, 3.73, 3.90, 4.10. does the tooth pitch change with the different ratios?

run a taller tire an see if your car likes it better, if so then get the 373s , if not keep the 410

you cannot mismatch gear parts. The ring gears and pinion heads are different thicknesses. I personally would want 4.10 gears unless I was running the 1/8th mile and then I would go for 4.56 or higher. You will not notice that much of a difference with 3.73s vs 4.10s. it is only like 100-200 rpm difference.

thanks ryans88. I was wondering if the pitch and stuff was the same or not. my current tires are 275/50/15 BFG drag radials. I was thinking about going with a 275/60/ 15 MT drag radial. it should be almost 2 inches taller will that make much difference.
