5.0 swap need wiring help ASAP!!!
Greetings all, I am new to this site and am in dire need of help. I have just done a 2.3 to 5.0 conversion. I think I may have messed up on my choice for ECM and wiring harness. I swapped a 5.0 out of a 90' LX completewith ECM and engine harness into a 92' 2.3 LX, My problem is that i get basic power to the ignition (lights work, turn signals, Heater fan, etc.) however turning the key to the "On" posistion..the fuel pump does not prime,, then the key over to crank the motor..nothing happens. In addition when I turn my head lights on the horn blows along with the lights turning on.
Guys I need some serious help on this one!!! Thanks in advance |

oh gosh, im doing this swap rite now, an 89 to an 89 tho... im swapping the ECM and related harness in the next day or so, hope you find hte problem. let me know if you find the problem so i dont go down the same path, good luck bro

change the relay that is next to the computer. make sure the computer harness has a good ground. i just had the same symptoms and it was the ecu harness main relay next to the ecu

Ithink you will be fine, using 89' to 89'. I think part of my problem might be the fact that I have a 92' an used the ECM and Harness from a 90', things changed a little between those years. I will check the power relay, it was swapped out in with the 90' haress, but maybe it was bad to begin with. any other ideas just in case??? what about the fuel relay??
