Can't Get My Scanner To Pull Codes?

got 90 lx 5.0 5 speed... always had check engine light on, hooked three different scanners to car, always says cannot communicate with vehicle,fuse somewhere, bad computer, don't know? any suggestions ol' wise blue oval worshipers.

Whats up fellow stangbanger, what a frustrating problem! I have tons of customers come to me with this same problem, usually they are ready to pull there hair out and call it quits with EEC V computer controlled cars. Have faith brother, give me a call and I will help you as much as I can over the phone unless you live in New Mexico, then just cruise by the shop. Call or E-mail me J. You can try www.bedlib.org/ebsco.html Then click on the ARRC ion. They have all the wiring diagrams you need.

my car did the same thing. tried to scan it and it said could not communicate. ended up being the cars computer was bad.

how much does a new computer go for?

cars will do that if your car is below 9 volts

Make sure your scanner is OBD-I compliant, first.
Have you tried pulling the blink codes and see if that works?

thats not where i would be trying to buy one....im sure you can get em cheaper elsewhere

Did you try pulling the blink codes with a test light?
