'06 GT vs 575M Ferrari?MOTOBLUE 3-Pulley Underdrive Kit Diablo Predator Chip C&L True Flow Cold Air Intake Roush Stage 3 Supercharger Kit High Flow Electric Street Water Pump (Overall around a 350-400 HP gain) I know my car is faster off the line but this is a 50 mile race on an oval track (and I've been sticking with just street racing). I have never been faster than 140 mph and my car's performance craps out before that speed so I am not sure If i can go up against this. any suggestions please reply |

i would not put that kind of cash on that kind of race. you sound like you might be better off on a 1/4 mile drag strip against him.

I would think in a 50 mile road race you would easily fall prey to the Ferrari.
Unless you have a big brake kit and have also been building your suspension out for autocross, your brakes would be so faded by lap three it wouldn't take long to see your lap times take a real hit. Quarter mile yeah I think you'd have something for him, top end for 50 miles, not a chance. Just my thoughts though. |

For a 50 mile track race, you don't stand a chance. Unless you've spent some dough and tweaking time on some big brakes and some nice suspension, the Ferrari will out handle you big time. Also, I would imagine a Ferrari owner would have a lot of track time under his belt, and seeing as how you said you don't do tracks, it seems to me as though the driver has an edge over you, too.
So, unless you wanna post a video of a Ferrari kicking a Mustang, I'd stay away.

Ferrari has 50+ years of racing history with their cars, and that car is good for 200+ mph. It would do real well on an oval track. It would be fun, but all the power you want in a Mustang won't make it hold the road at a speed to keep up with that.
