Stroker


I was wondering how much the basic .030 over bore costs. i got a price from a shop for $200 and an extra $75 to clean up the block

just wondering...b/c a friend has an old 351w layin around

That is about right. Always have the block cleaned, checked for cracks and sonic checked before boring.

i think that i paid a bit more than that a few years ago. Any more windsors just layin around???

haha. unfortunately no. my friends grandfather has about 6 or more 67-69 camaros sittin around though, some being restored others not. he has about 20 or more motors layin around and only one is a ford (the windsor) lol

i just need to get a price for it. what would u guys pay for it? it looks decent, it is stored inside a box truck. it is a complete carb motor.

yes...i was debating the h/c/i on my 5.0...but if the price is right, i am definitely going to try to build a 408 stroker.

i cant wait...i should find out about the block by this weekend

also...if i do get the stroker kit, should i buy the chp kit w/ cast crank and forged rods/pistons, or the cheaper cast kit w/ hypueretic pistons from eagle on summit?

my question is...is it worth the extra 300 bucks for forged pistons?

It depends on what you want to do. If you aren't going to use a power adder then get cheap parts.

i dont plan on having a power adder initially, but i think i will go forged (except crank) b/c i might spray in the future
