transmission t5 t56my options are: to go ahead and buy a t5 from a tbird v8 (but they have shorter gear ratios so mileage will go to crap and hes selling it for $250) wait till the next issues of the Carolina Trader and wait to see if anyone is selling another tranny buy one off of ebay (not very trusty) buy one off of an aftermarket website (expensive) Now, im just wondering, although im not sure about this, but doesnt the t56 fit in our cars, like direct boltin? or is there any modification that needs to be done since it is heavier/taller than the t5? please tell me any info you might have on a website that sells decent transmissions for low shipping or something as well.

A t56 is going to cost you a decent amount of money, like around 2k give or take. I know you need a different crossmember, not sure if there's anything else.

Different clutch, output yoke, shifter etc...
It is a fairly detailed swap and not really worth it unless you are making 800 ft lbs of torque. Just have sean rebuild your T5, that is your best bet. Or if you want to blow $2K, get a G-force T5.
