usually rollers need taller covers, and 1.7 adds cam size make sure ya have clearance, and they should work make sure ya have a matching spring with right height and pressure to ya cam...ya have to shim them to make sure they are correct setup to ya springs on the roller rockers certain shims make a roller rocker taller or shorter..

ya i understand...and im running stock cam so it shouldnt be a clearance issue...i want new springs. I head the beehive springs were the best...but not sure bout the mount...I think pedestal mount should bolt right on. but this is getting deeper than my knowledge of the great pushrod motor. If i need diff valve covers would some one post a link of the ones that are taller

Would these work? or are they too much? eBay Motors: COMP CAMS SOLID ROLLER VALVE SPRINGS MUSTANG AFR TFS (item 330183983658 end time May-30-08 07:16:34 PDT)
Still not sure which rockers to get...stud or pedistal...

studs ya dont have to change out everytime to get new cam and shim...all ya need to do is adjust and you are done.. crane, comp,i have a set of epw engine perf warehouse rr and there great..without a baffle is ok as long as you dont get a high volume oil pump or it will be all over in the pvc vent or filter.. automotive performance warehouse has great stuff cheap... magazines use them all time... match ya springs for about 60 bucks or so... there cams are around 49-69.00 and i know several who have them and are good.. perf cams too..

There is a max diamater spring size that the rocker can use without the spring and rocker rubing each other. 1.50 is the usually the norm.

Is it even worth it?

Maby not for huge power gains, but fresh springs are a great piece of mind. With a stock cam you'll prolly have no problems, but you may want to change cams down the road.

cams? haha...kidding....you can still run even the fcam on stock springs..prob not for a long time..but is doable..i dont see much gain with 1.7's without a decent cam..almost no point...just do it all at once...
