fuel pump question

i turned the key to the KOEO position to pressurize the fuel system to check for leaks, but there was no buzz. Tried with two diff computers thinking that might have been the problem. Thought maybe my old one was bad from the fire. Is there anything that could have gotten burnt out or shorted from the fire that happened? All of the wiring in the engine compartment is all there, so i have no clue what it could be. Thanks.

check fuse first, then listen to see if you hear fuel pump relay clicking when you cycle the key (should be under drivers seat if an 89). also check the fuel pump safety switch in the hatch. last resort, check for power the fuel pump wires in trunk that will tell you for sure. if you have power to pump but it isn't running, pump is bad. hope that helps

Maybe it is a quiet fuel pump. My 89 LX you can't here the pump at all. Did you check fuel pressure with a gauge?

is the fuse on the fuse panel? i looked there and didn't see anything about fuel system on the little stick on the back...but i might not have looked well enough. I just put a pressure gauge on and it was reading at 0. I might be out of gas. If i was would i still hear that buzzing it makes when u turn the key? Ill check out the fuse, safety switch, and relay tomorrow. As for clicking, i didn't hear any.
