I bought one brand new in 1991. I still have it.
Got a ticket the second day I owned it playing around with some dude in a notchback. Turns out that notchback was an undercover cop car and the dude was a cop

I had to replace the factory Gatorbacks at about 12K miles when the car was only 4 months old. What a shock, 16 in "sport" tires cost A LOT back then, like over $1200 for the Gatorbacks. TireRack ads in the back of car magazines were the only cheaper option. Things have changed since then...

You ALWAYS hear stories about someone wishing they still had some older car they had. I've learned from others mistakes and have not got rid of mine. I don't drive it much anymore but I still have it.

DOH! That sucks! You should have fought that...guess you would have probably lost though. Yeah my 88 had Eagle GT's on it and they were pricey. But if you have to worry about the price on stuff - including gas! - then you probably should by a Honda Civic instead Keep your car man - don't give it up for anything. Good call!

Thanks! Love the white - I'm jealous of your '88 - she's in great shape!!! What color interior? Mine had the dove grey leather...

I said - "Call the factory - you're wrong." lol I'm not kidding - slept with Mustang magazines under my pillow. I'm sure there are kids out there that do that now...

Couldn't help but shed a tear when I left my 79 Olds Cutlass V8 on the lot though. I was shedding tears of joy about 10 minutes later though...man that car got tons of attention. There was no other like it around for a few months...real head turner that Fox body was!

Thanks for letting me walk down memory lane again guys.

yeah i got a couple mustang mags in every room, i reread one in the morning and one at night.

and my friend has a 72? cutless with the 455 rocket. its a dog haha

both front and rear seats are gray... possibly dove gray... but the rear seat is the original leather and the front isn't the leather was all cracked and it didn't look nice so I bought a brand new gt seat from my neighbor he's the original owner and never drives the car only on nice days and he bought corbeau seats for it.. so he gave them to me

That's cool - I wonder how hard it would be to find a nice '88 vert?

WOW! 1200 miles on it!?!?! That's a shame...will make a nice car for someone that will take great care of it. Right now I'm in this wonderful love affair with my 05 in the garage - and it's being driven - hard - daily! lol

Good to know they are out there...I wasn't crazy on that blue grey color combo - the all white was kickin...

im hopin the fox will come back for another generation. right now the s197 looks like the 64.5 to 73 and then a little gas crisis came about and the mustang II was born. hopefully with these gas prices we can skip the mustang II and go right back to the fox's and maybe they can bring back the 5.0 pushrod with 300 factory horsepower...
